A Rememberance, with Love

On July 7, 1999, my son, Gregory Kendall Hundt, died during yet another surgery for Chondrosarcoma cancer. He was 17 years, 9 months and 5 days old. Cancer had been a part of his life for over 3 years. He was first diagnosed in April of 1996 and had his first surgery in May of that year, to remove the tumor that had grown in his shoulder blade, had grown so large as to break that bone. Over the next few years, he had more surgeries, to remove tumors in his lungs and brain, and died during surgery to remove one of his kidneys. It is my belief he left this world on his terms, because he knew he had more tumors in his lungs, and there would continue to be more tumors... until there was nothing left to remove. His last words spoken were, "I love you, Mom", as they wheeled him off to the operating room.

I am going to use these pages as a rememberance of his life. I will include photos, stories about him, links to things that interested him, what was said at his memorial service, and possibly sound wavs from his favorite bands. I'm very grateful to my other son, Lowell, for opening his heart and putting his thoughts down for everyone to read.

Greg, I love you, too. You were my second child, my first son, and the light of my life. I loved you more than you ever knew. And I always will.

I hope those who visit this site will learn a little bit about the person Greg was. He was loved by so many people outside of his family. Please send any comments to me.

It's now been nine long and impossible years since Greg passed away, yet the memories and love still remain as strong as ever. So too, does the pain of missing him, and wondering what kind of a man he would have become. I know I would have been proud of you because I was when you were alive. I see you each time I see a rainbow. I love you, Greg and I know you know that. So do your father, sister and brother. We all miss you terribly and will never be the same without you.
